Gospel Baptist Church was founded by God through godly leaders who have a zeal for the lost in 1983. The motto of the church is “Gospel for the world”. And the Gospel Baptist Bible Seminary has its origin in the conviction of several leaders of the Gospel Baptist Church of Myanmar Convention that the establishment of the Bible School is a distinct purpose of soul winning and equipping Pastors and leaders to meets the need of the churches in Myanmar. Thus, in 1987 Gospel Baptist Bible Seminary was constituted under the able leadership of Gospel Baptist Church of Myanmar Convention.

The Seminary openned its door in Kalaymyo, a small town in the North West State of Myanmar, in June 1987 with fulltime courses leading to the Certificate of Theology, Graduate of Theology, and Bachelor of Theology Degree. The Seminary functioned at premises rented in Kalaymyo for six years (1987-1993). With the joining hands of qualified faculty, students from different parts of Myanmar, and with the vision to meet the needs of the Churches of Myanmar at large, the leadership deemed best to move the Seminary in Yangon. Again, the Seminary functioned at rented premises in 46 ward, North Dagon Yangon since 1993 till 2008. However at present God used Dr. Forth Naisang and family (Chinhill ministries) to buy a piece of land about 12 acres and built all purpose hall, boarding houses, Class rooms and staff quarters for the Seminary. Thus the Seminary moved to Pale, Mingalardon township, Yangon since 2009.
